Konami ya dijo que seguiría desarrollando la saga Metal Gear sin la dirección de Hideo Kojima. No obstante, nadie imaginaba que esto llegaría tan pronto, pues tal y como se puede extraer de la web de ofertas de empleo de Konami, ya están buscando personal para el desarrollo de un nuevo Metal Gear.
El desarrollo podría realizarse conjuntamente entre oficinas en Japon y EEUU, pues las ofertas pertenecen a estos dos territorios. Buscan personal muy cualificado para desarrollar una entrega del calibre de Metal Gear y exigen además de una gran experiencia en el desarrollo de videojuegos, entre otras cosas.
